What's special
Wyaralong Dam is stocked by the Logan and Albert Fish Management Association Inc. The dam is stocked with Ausralian bass and Mary River cod. In 2017/18 13,800 Mary River cod and 10,000 Australian bass were stocked from SIPS permit sales. The dam joined the SIPS scheme in 2016 but was previously stocked from other funding sources.
Location
Wyaralong Dam is located at the base of Mt Joyce north-west of Beaudesert. The dam is restricted to electric powered vessels and paddle craft only. There are two camping areas operated by Seqwater at the dam. The lilybrook Recreation Area and Ngumbi campsite. The facilities at the dam include wheelchair access toilets, barbeques, picnic tables, shelters, cold showers, water tanks, horse holding paddocks, horse loading ramps and a playground. There is a network of trails around the dam that are designed specifically for horse riders, bushwalkers and mountain bikers.
